The majority of Bureau of Land Management public lands across the country including Wyoming will remain open during the lapse of appropriations and shutdown of the federal government. That's according to BLM officials in Washington, D.C. who say the lands will remain as accessible as possible while still following all applicable laws and procedures.

  • BLM roads, trails, campgrounds, boat ramps and recreation sites will remain accessible to visitors
  • Emergency and rescue services will be limited.
  • All BLM facilities on public lands however will be closed.

Officials also say that because of the federal government shutdown, the BLM websites and social media are not being monitored or updated and they may not reflect current conditions.
