More Highway Construction Starting In Wyoming

CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) — More highway construction projects will soon be underway around Wyoming and most of them will be done by in-state companies.

The state's transportation commission awarded $12 million in contracts for 11 projects during its meeting in April.

The largest project is a nearly $3 million reclamation of the Hakalo Quarry near Glenrock. The limestone quarry provides rock for road base for highway project throughout central Wyoming.

Kirkland Construction of Rye, Colo. was picked to the do job, which is scheduled to be done by Nov. 30.

Cheyenne's Reiman Corp. was picked for two projects to rehabilitate bridges in northwest Wyoming and along Interstate 80 in Sweetwater County.

Eight projects will be done by Wyoming companies. Two other Colorado companies and a North Dakota contractor were also awarded contracts.
