Each year the Wyoming Game and Fish Department conducts a Moose Hunter Survey to estimate harvest, hunter success, and hunter effort to help plan next year’s hunting season. Spokesman Al Langston says surveys were mailed last week to all 493 hunters with a 2013 moose license.

Langston says even if a hunter did not harvest a moose or decided not to hunt this year, their responses are important to the survey.

Langston says it is important that all hunters respond to the online moose survey even if they were checked in the field. Surveys provide important information on the status of the herds. Information is used to develop future management strategies.
