At least 44 states have anti-bullying laws on the books and six of those, including New Jersey and Massachusetts, have language that specifically mention “cyber bullying.” And, a new California bill pending in the State Senate would allow school officials to suspend and expel students for cyber bullying off school grounds. Are we overusing the “bully” label by including being unfriendly, social exclusion, and name- calling?
