Today on The Morning Zone:

7:07AM MDT: Laramie County Laramie County Commisioner M.Lee Hasenauer along with Keith Tast, Shooting Range Manager, will be our guests to discuss tomorrow evening's Town Hall Meeting, 6:30 to 8:30 in the Cottonwood Room at the Laramie County Library.  Everyone is welcome.

8:07AM MDT:  Suzanne  Handler, the author of “The Secrets They Kept: The True Story of a Mercy Killing That Shocked a Town and Shamed a Family. A recent news story about George Sanders, the Phoenix, Arizona man who carried out his ailing wife’s wish to die by his loving hand resonated with Suzanne Handler, because she has an eerily similar tale of murder and regret in her family. In 1937, in Cheyenne, Wyoming, her grandfather, Sam, shot and killed his 16-year old, mentally ill daughter rather than commit her to an insane asylum -- possibly for life. According to court records, young Sally begged to be free of the demons that tortured, not her body, as in the case of Mrs. Sanders, but her adolescent mind. Her diagnosis: dementia praecox (schizophrenia).

9:07AM MDT State Superintendent of Public Instruction, Cindy Hill is back for her regularly scheduled monthly visit. She will update us on a number of important issues regarding education in outr state, plus she'll also give us an update on her pending lawsuit against the State of Wyoming in the State Supreme Court and the progress of the petition to obtain sufficient signatures to put an initiative on the next ballot to reverse the actions of the legislature to remove her as head of the State Department of Education.
