A one-car rollover Monday night claimed the life of a 31 year old Lusk man, according to a spokesman for the Wyoming Highway Patrol.

Sgt. Steve Townsend says Jay Ebbert was  westbound on US Highway 20 14 miles east of Lusk at 9:30 pm Monday when his Ford F-150 drifted off the right side of the roadway. Townsend says Ebbert then over-corrected, bringing the vehicle back onto the roadway, where it crossed the center line, went into the eastbound lane and then off the left side of the road. Townsend says Ebbert again over-corrected, steering to the right, causing the vehicle to go into a broadside slide and then roll several times.

Townsend says Ebbert, who was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected from the cab and later declared dead at the scene. Townsend says investigators are looking into excessive speed, fatigue and/or driver distraction as possible factors in the fatal crash.
