When it comes to the military, most American's support the efforts and service of our men and women in uniform. But the government is only allowing for a 1.3% pay raise.  People may be asking the question, "Is a 1.3% pay raise for our military men and women enough?" I think one can come to their own conclusion just by looking at what the increase of inflation was over the past few years.

Since 2012, the total rate of increase from then until 2015 has totaled 3.27%, according to statistics from the Current US Inflation Rates. That is almost 2% more than what the military is expected to be paid in 2016.

The pay raise, which the President of the United States orders, has been a disappointment for many who support the military. Many advocates want to see military pay stay in line with private sector pay, but it doesn't look like that is going to happen next year.

The private sector growth rate has been projected to be at about 2.3% in 2016. On the other hand, Congress can override the President's order, but are not expected to do so at this time.
