The Associated Press says Governor Matt Mead has been nominated by state Republicans for another term as Governor. He released this statement:

This is a tremendous win. I am honored by the support of thousands of volunteers throughout Wyoming who helped tell our story. This was a grassroots effort. Wyoming voters expect personal contact, and I have done that as Governor and I continued that in my campaign. My campaign relied on direct communication with Wyoming voters – volunteers went to 60,000 doors; individuals contributed and over 5000 friends shared my message on Facebook.

I made promises to the people of Wyoming four years ago, and I kept those promises – a focus on jobs and the economy; protecting Wyoming’s way of life against federal intrusion; investing in local communities and expanding opportunities for technology.

I will continue to communicate that record and my vision for Wyoming."
