Cheyenne Mayor Rick Kaysen says city revenues exceeded expectations in Fiscal Year 2013 while expenditures were below predicted levels.

Kaysen says revenues to the city ended up being $800,000 above forecast, while expenditures were $1.6 Million below projections. Revenues from building permits were a big factor in the increase in money flowing into the city, with a final figure of $1.9 million according to the mayor. That compare with projections of only $428, 000.

Kaysen says the increase in building fees was not only good news for city coffers, but reflects a local construction industry that is much stronger than anyone expected in early 2012 when the FY 2013 budget was being put together. Fiscal year 2013 ran from July 1, 2012 to June 30, 2013.
