Manning’s Father Thinks His Son is Innocent

FORT MEADE, Md. (AP) — Army Pfc. Bradley Manning's father says he thinks his son is innocent despite his convictions for disclosing classified information through WikiLeaks.

Brian Manning, of Oklahoma City, appeared Tuesday on CNN's Anderson Cooper 360.

He says he can't understand how someone could get more than 700,000 documents from a classified computer network and give them to WikiLeaks without being detected.

Bradley Manning has said he downloaded the material onto his workplace computer, transferred it to CDs and then used his personal computer to send it to WikiLeaks.

He faces up to 90 years in prison for his crimes.

His father says he thinks Bradley was "grandstanding" when he said he leaked the information to expose government wrongdoing.
