Manderson Man Killed in Single Car Crash

A 21 year old Manderson resident was killed in a single car rollover south of Basin on December 4th.

According to a release from the Wyoming Highway Patrol, 21 year old Ricardo Deniz Vazquez was southbound around 10:35 p.m. on U.S. Highway 20 about two miles south of Basin at the time of the accident.

Investigators say his vehicle left the roadway to the west and went down a steep embankment. The vehicle went into a roll, ejecting Vazquez who was not wearing a seat belt.

He was pronounced dead at South Bighorn County Hospital in Basin, where he had been sent by ambulance. Alcohol use and excessive speed are being investigated as possible factors in the crash, according to the patrol.
