A 35-year-old Belle Fourche, South Dakota man could face up to 45 years in prison after a Wyoming trooper reportedly found drugs in his SUV.

Court records say Kristoffer Kjerengtroen was pulled over for speeding on Interstate 25 north of Cheyenne on Feb. 28.

The traffic stop led to a search of the SUV and 249 grams of suspected marijuana, eight containers of suspected marijuana wax weighing 406 grams and three THC oil cartridges weighing 29 grams were found, according to an affidavit.

Kjerengtroen was arrested and charged with possession with intent to deliver marijuana, THC wax and THC oil and felony possession of marijuana, THC wax and THC oil.

Kjerengtroen is currently being held in the Laramie County jail on a $10,000 cash bond. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for March 8 at 2:30 p.m.
