Word is coming from the National Weather Service that a developing storm system over the inter-mountain west is expected to bring winter weather conditions as well as near blizzard conditions to much of the Rockies and across the high plains through Tuesday. An arctic front interacting with a low pressure system is expected to result in a significant snow storm across parts of Wyoming, Colorado, Nebraska, Kansas and South Dakota. This storm is expected to bring 9-13 inches of snow to DIA, Denver and along the front range. Similar totals are possible into the southeast corner of Wyoming and into the Nebraska Panhandle. The Snowy Range of Wyoming could see snows in excess of 2 feet in a short amount of time.

Cheyenne and Laramie forecasts show a possible 9-15 inches of snow with winds gusting to 50 mph. Casper and the southern half of Natrona County is being forecast to receive 6-11 inches of snow across the lower elevations while Casper Mountain may see 12-24 inches of the white stuff when all is said and done. Similar amounts of snow and gusty winds are expected across Central, South Central and Southeast Wyoming starting Monday night.

Travel conditions up and down I-25 and I-80 as well as other area roadways, could be difficult if not impossible at times as this system is expected to dump heavy amounts of snow with accompanying winds in excess of 40 mph. For road and travel information CLICK HERE.
