CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) — A company that makes ammunition magazines and other accessories for guns has opened its new manufacturing and distribution center in Cheyenne.

Magpul Industries started production at its Cheyenne facility on Jan. 12 and sent out its first shipment the next day.

Magpul now employs 112 workers at the facility and plans to hire more.

Manufacturing operations director Carey Ryerson tells the Wyoming Tribune Eagle that local people have been friendly and accepting to Magpul employees.

Magpul decided to move its headquarters and major operations out of Colorado after that state passed gun control laws in 2013.
