Logan Avenue between East Lincolnway and East 19th Street will be closed on Tuesday, September 1 and most of Wednesday, September 2 to allow the contractor to put a layer of asphalt wearing course on the street.

Detours will be posted and there will be access to all businesses along Logan Avenue, according to City of Cheyenne spokesman Scott Smith.

After the wearing course is installed, utilities will be raised and the final lane markings will be painted.

The reconstruction of Logan Avenue is between Nationway and East Pershing Boulevard. Logan Avenue is being reconstructed with new sanitary sewer, water lines, stormwater drains, sidewalks, curb, gutter and new road surface. The project is slated to be completed in late November 2015. Reiman Corp. of Cheyenne is the general contractor for the project.

The cost of this project is $7.7 million with funding from the Fifth-Penny Sales and Use Tax, and the Cheyenne Board of Public Utilities.
