Wyoming Air National Guard and F.E. Warren Air Force Base firefighters demonstrated the new Mobile Aircraft Fire Trainer (MAFT) Friday. F.E. Warren Fire Chief John McDougall says the MAFT allows firefighters to train locally on how to safely extinguish an aircraft fires. He says in the past, crews had to travel across the country annually to receive the training.  The Wyoming Air National Guard, Buckley Air Force Base in Colorado and F.E. Warren Air Force Base, worked to obtain the MAFT for this region for a number of years. While purchased with U.S. Air Force Space Command funds, all entities agreed to make its home at the Wyoming Air National Guard from May through August. It  moves to Buckley Air Force Base during the other months to allow for Colorado area firefighters to train locally.
