Laramie County Fire District #2 joined fellow firefighters in Laramie County and around the nation this past weekend with boots in hand for their annual Fill-the-Boot fundraising drive for the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA).

Fire fighters took to the streets of Laramie County to “Fill the Boot” for the Muscular Dystrophy Association on August 30th through September 2nd and raised more than $16,000 to help find treatments and cures for neuromuscular disease.

Lieutenant Brian Mills who spearheaded the fund drive for District 2 said, “This is unbelievable. Once again the citizens of Cheyenne and Laramie County have given with their hearts to a very worthy cause.”

MDA is the nonprofit health agency dedicated to finding treatments and cures for muscular dystrophy, ALS and related diseases by funding worldwide research. The Association also provides comprehensive health care and support services, advocacy and education.
