Lee Named Laramie County Clerk
Debra Lee was named Laramie County Clerk on Tuesday, filling a vacancy left by the death of Debbye Lathrop.
Laramie County Commissioners unanimously choose Lee from a list of three nominees put forward by the Laramie County Republican Party.
"I'm very humbled to be serving in this capacity," said Lee. "It is an honor to follow in Debbye's footsteps and I hope to continue the high level of service and even make improvements on things as we move forward."
Lee, who is an Office Support Specialist for the Wyoming Secretary of State's Elections Division, will serve out the remainder of Lathrop's term, which expires the end of 2018. She plans to seek a full four-year term after that.
Lathrop, a Republican, served as Laramie County Clerk from 1995 until her passing on May 18.
