Primary candidates vying for elected offices in Laramie County will face off in forums July 8-10, sponsored by the League of Women Voters of Cheyenne.

Leaque spokeswoman Marguerite Herman says the forums will take place in the County Commission hearing room and will be streamed live online and recorded for later viewing.

The forum schedule starts with candidates for Laramie County Commission on July 8. On July 9, candidates for District Attorney, County Clerk and Sheriff will answer questions. Then on July 10, LWV is scheduling head-to-head comparisons for five contested legislative races: Senate District 5 and House Districts 9, 10, 42 and 43.  Forums begin at 5:30 p.m. on July 8, 6 p.m. on July 9 and 5:30 p.m. on July 10. They all end by 8:30 p.m.

LWV is a political, non-partisan group with national, state and local level organizations. LWV takes positions on issues, but not on candidates. LWV encourages informed participation by citizens in their government. The Cheyenne League will ask questions at the forums and will provide time for audience questions, as well.
