Laramie County School District 1 has implemented a standardized district-wide disciplinary code for the first time, according to Superintendent Mark Stock. He says the new code is the result of input from all the district's principals to develop a consistent standard  that is in effect immediately.  Stock says previously a school's disciplinary code was determined by each school's principal, with the result that similar infractions sometimes carried widely different penalties. Stock says that became especially confusing when students moved from one school to another in the district. Stock says the current district wide code contains different levels of severity of punishment depending on the age of the offender and seriousness of the offense. Stock says the code will be reviewed at the end of the school year for possible changes.
