Laramie County School District #1 Superintendent Mark Stock is urging any local resident who may be interested in serving on the school board to apply by Friday.

Stock says the position has come open because former trustee Brian Farmer left to take a position as director the state school board, and board members felt it might be a conflict for him to serve with both boards at the same time. Stock says the position is unpaid, calling it one of the "definitive public service positions there is".

Stock says the one page application form is available at the district office. Stock says the board is planning an informational luncheon on Monday to meet with applicants for the position.
