Radiography and sonography students at Laramie County Community College recently raised $5,600 to help cancer patients at Cheyenne Regional Medical Center through the Curie Fund.

That fund helps cancer patients deal with personal expenses, transportation, utilities and other living expenses not directly related to their medical bills. Leonard Geringer, CRMC Radiation Oncology Manager, says the group of roughly 24 students held fundraisers including a craft fair, raffles and other events to raise the money.

He says students from the college's radiography program have raised over $15,600 for the Curie Fund over the past six years.
