Laramie County Community College President Dr.  Joe Schaffer delivered his first State of the College address Wednesday to a gathering of returning staff and faculty. Schaffer says changes has already been made at the college in his seven months there. Schaffer says the college is moving ahead with some major initiatives including tackling the needs for expanded facilities. Schaffer says right now, the current deficit is 40,000 gross square feet. Schaffer says they are also focusing on strengthening student services like advising.  He adds that the completion rate for students is also one area of focus. He says the college is also looking at writing a framework for student accountability. Schaffer says that work should be completed this fall and will be implemented in the Spring.
