Congratulation! Last week, four riders from Laramie County Community College’s equestrian team recently had the opportunity to show their talents in the national semifinals of the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) competition in Syracuse, N.Y.

The four LCCC riders that qualified for the western semifinals were Kayla Fisk, Kelsey Jenkins, Jessie Johnson and Adrian Parman.

During the event, riders competed in heat classes on the first day, vying for the finals class held on the second day of competition. The top four riders from each individual class then participated in the final national competition.

All four LCCC riders were competitive on a solid group of horses. The judges gave scores to Johnson and Parman that allowed them to compete during the finals class on Sunday. While neither of those riders reached higher than sixth place in the final round, the fierce competition featured some of the best riders from colleges and universities across the country.
