Laramie County Community College spokesman Ty Stockton says work on a pair of new buildings at the college is moving ahead on schedule.

Laramie County voters approved a $25 million dollar bond issue in 2013 to build a Flexible Technology building and a new Student Services Center. The state later kicked in an additional $418 million for the project.

The flex-tech building will host a variety of technology courses designed to better prepare students with skills useful in the local job market. The Student Services Center will be a central location for a variety of student services that are currently spread across the LCCC campus, including such things as financial aid applications and registration for classes.

Both buildings are part of an overall effort to meet a projected steady increase in the LCCC student body over the next few years.

Stockton says the flex-tech building should open in time for this coming fall semester, while the Student Services Center should be ready by about the following February..
