The look of Laramie County Community College (LCCC) continues to change.

Amidst a sea of umbrellas, LCCC broke ground on a $24.6 million Student Services & University Center Wednesday morning.

Dr. Joe Schaffer, President of LCCC, says the building will not only serve as a new "front door" on campus, it will serve as a one-stop center for students and the community.

"People always talk about the building, but one of the things that I like to talk about is what's going to happen inside the building," said Schaffer.  "I think what this building is going to do, it's going to help us engage our community better and engage our students better and we're going to see more of them through completion to their degree, to their certificate, and we're going to help more of them transition to the University of Wyoming if that's where they want to go or transition into the workplace."

The Student Services & University Center is scheduled to be completed by November 1, 2016.
