CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) The prospect of impeaching state schools Superintendent Cindy Hill is being discussed by some lawmakers in the wake of an inquiry into state Education Department operations under her direction. House Speaker Tom Lubnau, of Gillette, says it's premature to talk impeachment but it can't be ruled out. He will gauge sentiment among representatives before making any decision on whether to consider impeachment proceedings.

The inquiry released this week through the governor's office details a number of concerns from Education Department employees, including how state and federal money was handled. In the report, Hill defended her management or said she was unaware of specific problems and concerns.

Lubnau says the report bolsters the Legislature's decision to remove the superintendent as head of the agency this past winter.
