Lawmakers Not Happy With Restoration Plan

CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) — Lawmakers say they need more detailed floor plans for the state Capitol's restoration before they can sign off.

The Wyoming Tribune Eagle reports legislators and Gov. Matt Mead weren't satisfied with the plans presented to them Tuesday during the Capitol Building Restoration Oversight Group's meeting.

Their refusal to approve the design doesn't necessarily mean delays for a project that was slated to begin this summer, but does show a growing frustration among lawmakers that more detailed plans haven't been finished since they voted for the project in 2014.

The $292 million project renovates the Capitol building, among other endeavors. Project coordinators plan to have a detailed design ready in 30-45 days.

If delayed, the project would lose out on $6 million to $8 million.
