Last Review for an Unknown Soldier [VIDEO]

Roger Gray-Townsquare Media

It was the last review for Army Pfc. Lawrence Samuel Gordon. And it came 70 years late. Gordon, originally from Canada, was working as a ranch hand near Casper at the time of the Pearl Harbor attack. Though Canadian, he enlisted in the US Army and was sent to Europe.

It was in France, that Gordon was killed during an assault on a German position. But for some reason, his remains were unidentified, and he was buried in a grave with German soldiers in the French village of Husines-sur-mer. This year, a forensics team identified him, and finally he was brought home this month.

The procession through Casper will be followed by final burial in his native Saskatchewan. The black SUV bearing his flag draped coffin was accompanied by Casper Police officers and members of the Patriot Guard Riders, motorcyclists who volunteer for funeral escort duty.
