The Laramie Police Department has arrested a 22-year-old Laramie resident on three counts of second-degree sexual abuse of a minor.

According to a press release from the Laramie P.D., the Laramie man was arrested on Saturday, January 5th.  The suspect was identified by the victim, a 15 year old female.  The incidents are alleged to have occurred from July of 2012 to November of 2012.

Wyoming statute prohibits the release of the victim’s or suspect’s name prior to the filing of an information or indictment in district court. The release of a minor victim’s name is additionally restricted by the trial court even after the filing of formal charges.  It is also the policy of the KOWB News Center to not release the names of victims of sexual assault.

Laramie Police officials say the investigation is on-going.

Sexual Abuse of a Minor in the second degree is a felony punishable by imprisonment for not more than twenty years.
