The Laramie County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a stabbing that occurred at 619 South Greeley Highway during the early morning hours of September 29th. Laramie County spokesman Gerry Luce says one person received multiple stab wounds during the incident.

Deputies from the Laramie County Sheriff’s Department responded to Forum 619 at approximately 1AM to find that 36 year old Cheyenne resident Edgar C. Salinas had received what initial investigation shows to be 6 stab and slash wounds. Salinas was transported to Cheyenne Regional Medical Center where he was treated for his injuries and released.

Luce says the initial investigation showed that the victim, Mr. Salinas, had been dancing with the ex-wife of the suspect, 38 year old Cheyenne resident Ezequiel Acosta-Caldera, when without warning Acosta-Caldera attempted to punch Salinas.  The incident then turned into a fight on the floor where Salinas was allegedly stabbed and slashed by Acosta-Caldera. The suspect then fled from the club.

Luce says the investigation remains ongoing and law enforcement is seeking Acosta-Caldera as the suspect in this incident.
