Visit Cheyenne presented Laramie County Commissioners with a $15,389 check on Tuesday for improvements at the Archer Complex.

"We decided to leave it somewhat general so they have the maximum flexibility to use it most effectively," said Darren Rudloff, President and CEO of Visit Cheyenne.

Commissioners don't have specific plans for the money, but Rudloff says "it'll probably go to expand the fairgrounds and the area that would be able to accommodate visitors."

State law allows local lodging tax boards to give some lodging tax proceeds back to local governments.

"It's our way of assisting the county and the city with certain projects that will grow and expand our local hospitality industry," said Rudloff.
