It's just not the Laramie County Fair without some good old fashioned mutton bustin'. That's what some of our kids did this week, in the arena, at Frontier Park.

Here are some tidbits about the 'kid favorite' event, that you may not have known about.

  • The child can weigh no more than 60 pounds and no taller than 52"
  • The National Western Stock Show, in the 1980s, has been credited for getting the event going
  • A great way to introduce young children to 'rough stock' rodeo events
  • Children must between the ages of 5 and 8
  • Top score winners will have a chance to compete in the 'Champion Mutton Bustin' contest

Our youngsters in Laramie County really know how to ride a sheep and the video will show some highlights of the event, as they make their way out of the chute and into the arena.
