Laramie County Bomb Squad Called for Possible Booby-Trapped Safe

Would you booby-trap your safe while it was in storage?

The Laramie County Bomb Squad was called to Antler Storage on West Allison Road during the noon hour on Tuesday, September 9, on a report of a booby-trapped safe located inside a storage unit.

A portion of West Allison Road, near the Safeway Store in south Cheyenne, was blocked off for a short time as the Explosive Ordnance Disposal unit investigated. A note attached to the safe indicated that it was booby-trapped.

Personnel at Antler Storage spoke with the user of the storage unit and he said he put the note on the safe to deter crime, but it wasn't really booby-trapped. He gave permission to the bomb squad to open it.

After all the drama on Tuesday afternoon, the suspected booby-trapped safe...was empty.
