Kohl’s Donates To Injury Prevention Program

The Kohl's Department Store chain has donated $11, 995 to the Cheyenne Regional Medical Center Injury Prevention Program, according to the program's coordinator.

Stephanie Heitsch says some of the money will be used for billboards to remind parents about the state law requiring children under the age of 9 to be restrained in a child safety seat while riding in a car.

She adds part of the money will also go towards car seats for a ''Boost 'til Nine Seat Check" Saturday from 10am until 2pm in the Kohl's  parking lot. Heitsch says studies show that between 86 and 92 percent of child safety seats in use in Wyoming are not properly installed.

Heitsch says experts will be on hand to check for proper installation of the seats. She says that while the safety checks will be free, they will ask for donations for any seats that are installed.
