If you and your furry pal had a good time at enjoyed our winter “Merry Mutt Fair” - or if you missed it - then you have to check this event out.  The Summer Mutt Fair will be even bigger at an outdoor venue in Lions Park (plenty of room and fresh air), in front of the amphitheater.

It is an extension of our winter Mutt Fair - we have outgrown the indoor venue.

The Summer Mutt Fair is free and open to the public - with exhibitor space available.

The Fair is the first major fundraiser for Black Dog Animal Rescue in over a year. It will begin at 10 am with a dog walk around Sloan’s lake followed by a pet costume contest. We are so excited to offer up some great events, including:

  • Noon and 2 pm –  Beat Grass will perform
  • Kiss-a-bull kissing booth featuring friendly pit-bull type dogs, sponsored by Align.
  • Concessions sponsored by Sams Club
  • Numerous pet product and service related vendors
  • Other shelters and rescues with adoptable pets
  • Club demonstrations featuring lure coursing, agility, and fly-ball
  • Games and face painting for kids
  • Car show
  • Pet portraits by Christine Kronz

The Summer Mutt Fair begins at 11 a.m. and ends at 4 p.m. on June 15 in Lions Park on the lawn in front of the amphitheater. Visit bdar.org for more info.

We will also have people on hand to sign your furry pal up for our 2013 pet pageant.
