Cheyenne Mayor Rick Kaysen has  accepted a personal invitation from the Secretary of the Air Force to attend the 62nd annual National Security Forum at the Air War College, Maxwell Air Force Base, Alabama.

City of Cheyenne spokesman Scott Smith says the forum is designed to allow important community leaders to discuss security issues.

Smith says during the week of May 5-7, about 150 civilian leaders in business, education and government from all over the U.S. will meet with senior military leaders to discuss national security issues. Kaysen will attend lectures, meet in seminars for in-depth discussions and take part in social events, according to Smith.

The Air War College is the senior professional development school in the Air Force officer education system as a part of Air University. AWC educates  senior officers to lead at the strategic level of air and space forces, according to Air Force officials.

Smith says Kaysen's attendance won't cost the city any money.
