Cheyenne Mayor Rick Kaysen says based on the comments he's received, city residents overwhelmingly want restrictions on political signs in the city.

The mayor says that except for a couple of comments by local lawyers everyone who has called, e-mailed or spoken to him about a proposal to remove restrictions on political signs is against the idea. Kaysen said last week that he was undecided about whether to support the removal of such restrictions. The Cheyenne City Council is considering a change to the city's Unified Development Code to allow for year around display of such signs.

The mayor at that time said it was a difficult decision, pitting first amendment rights against the ""right to an uncluttered appearance" in the city.
