Kaysen Proposes Employee Raises

Cheyenne Mayor Rick Kaysen is proposing a 2.25 percent raise for city employees as part of his fiscal year 2015 budget.

The mayor says the raises would still be well below the actual cost of living index increase for the area, which he says was roughly 3.7 percent for the past year. The new fiscal year takes effect on July 1. 2014.

The budget must be approved by the full city council before taking effect.
