Cheyenne Mayor Rick Kaysen says Cheyenne Frontier Days annually contributes somewhere around $25 Million to the local economy.

Kaysen says that amount over the ten days of CFD amounts to "a pretty good success story". Kaysen's assessment of the financial impact of Cheyenne Frontier Days is echoed by Greater Cheyenne Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Dale Steenbergen, who says CFD is ''a second Christmas" for many local retailers.

Steenbergen says that while he doesn't want to quote an exact dollar figure on the impact to the local economy, the amount is"certainly well into the millions of dollars".He also  says all signs are pointing to a strong year for Cheyenne Frontier Days 2014.

Kaysen, meanwhile, says city agencies ranging from the Cheyenne Police Department to the city Parks and Recreation Department have been making plans for several weeks to deal with the expected influx of visitors for CFD.
