The Wyoming Peace Officer Standards and Training Commission (POST) has appointed a new Executive Director. Governor Matt Mead recognized Jeff Schulz as the Executive Director of the Commission.

According to Governor Mead, “This Commission is important to ensuring law enforcement agencies across the state are well prepared and compliant with the required professional standards and certifications. I believe Jeff has the right background and initiative to lead.”

Prior to his appointment as the Executive Director of the Commission, Schulz previously worked at the Cheyenne Police Department. During his time there he served as Captain as well as the interim Chief of Police. He graduated from the University of Wyoming and from the 214th session of the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s National Academy.

In response to his new position Schulz said, “I am excited for the opportunity to continue to provide professional services to the men and women who keep our state safe. My goal at POST will be to assist the commission in performing its oversight duties effectively and efficiently.”

The Wyoming Peace Officer Standards and Training Commission currently certifies over 4,000 peace officers, detention officers, corrections officers, coroners, and dispatchers and oversees all related training statewide.
