JACKSON, WYO (AP) - Jackson Hole Mountain Resort is seeing a moderate increase in pass sales and some more visitor interest for the coming winter season. The resort was recently ranked no. 1 by readers of Ski Magazine.

The resort is roughly three weeks from its projected opening date during the Thanksgiving holiday weekend. Resort spokeswoman Anna Cole says of last Tuesday advance season pass sales were "moderately higher" that last year, though the resort would not release specific figures.

The Associated Press reports that since the magazine ranking came out, the Jackson Hole Chamber of Commerce has seen a modest increase over last year in people calling about vacation opportunities. Last season, the resort broke its record for skier numbers with more than 502,000 visitors.
