Laramie County Community College has hired Dr. Pat Schwerdtfeger as the Interim Vice President of Academic Affairs. Dr. Schwerdtfeger will assist the College for the next five to eight months, or until a permanent vice president is hired. Lccc President Joe Schaffer says  he believes Dr. Schwerdtfeger will be a good fit for the organization at this time,. Dr. Schwerdtfeger has nearly 12 years of senior level administrative experience, including serving four years as the VP of Academic Affairs at Riverside City College from 2007 to 2011 in Riverside, Calif. Dr. Schwerdtfeger also has an impressive teaching background, serving nearly 30 years in the classroom as a faculty at multiple institutions. He will be joining LCCC after serving as Interim Dean of Technology and Liberal Arts at Cerritos College in Norwalk, California.  Dr. Schaffer said he received great recommendations for Dr. Schwerdtfeger and felt that he would be the best fit. He expects Dr. Schwerdtfeger to be on campus and ready to start around the week of Sept. 17.  The search for a permanent VP will start back up in mid-September.
