This year has been a perfect storm for wildfires in Wyoming. Low humidity, high temperatures, and little rain have conspired to create the ideal conditions for starting and spreading fires.

This year has brought many wildfires to Wyoming. This is a video from the Berry Fire between Jackson and Yellowstone. According to InciWeb, the government’s incident reporting website, the fire started on Monday, July 25th. The area has been evacuated. As of publication time Highway  89/191/287 are closed between Leeks Marina and Yellowstone’s South entrance. The fire is not expected to be contained until early October.

There is some critical advice to anyone who may be in harm’s way. InciWeb said that if you feel that your life or property is in danger, evacuate even if there is not an evacuation in your area. Visit their website because information about the fire, road closures, and evacuations changes rapidly. Both Yellowstone National Park and Grand Teton National Park are still open.
