The amusement park is looking out for patrons that are using selfie sticks on rides that could potentially cause themselves and others harm. Here's what they're saying.  If someone jumps on a ride at Disney World in Orlando Florida, they can, however they must stow them away before take off.

The policy of the Magic Kingdom forbids visitors from utilizing the selfie sticks, mostly used to extend cameras and other hand held devices, up to 3 feet. Thunder Mountain, a Disney amusement ride, has had a lot of incidents, thus stopping the ride because of selfie stick usage from riders.

If you go to the park this summer, don't be surprised if you see signs that read "No Selfie Sticks" as workers have posted these at the entrance of many rides.
