A spokesman for the Wyoming Highway Patrol says investigators are still trying to determine the identity of a man who was killed in a traffic accident on Interstate 80 10 miles west of Cheyenne Wednesday morning.

Sgt. Steve Townsend says the man was driving a 2002 Jeep Liberty eastbound in the passing lane of the interstate around 9:40am Wednesday. Townsend says witnesses saw the vehicle drift towards the right and then swerve to the left, going into a broadside slide as it left the roadway. The vehicle then rolled two complete times before coming to rest in the median. The driver was partially ejected from the vehicle, and was declared dead at the scene.

Two passengers in the vehicle, 22 year old Yessica Saucedo-Carrillo and 1 year old Maya Aleman-Saucedo,  both of Kansas City, Kansas, were hospitalized at Cheyenne Regional Medical Center where their current conditions are unknown. Interstate 80 was temporarily closed while an AirLife helicopter landed on the interstate to take Maya Aleman-Saucedo to CRMC.. Yessica Saucedo-Carillo was taken to CRMC by ground ambulance.

Investigators believe over-correction and a tire failure were factors in the accident. Townsend says the driver was apparently using a falsified identification. He says the patrol and Laramie County Coroner Marty Luna are working to identify him, at which time his family will be notified.
