A 24-year-old Washington man is dead following a one-car rollover early Monday on Interstate 80 about 20 miles west of Laramie.

Sgt. Steve Townsend with the Wyoming Highway Patrol says Trevor Hollingsworth was heading westbound in a Ford F-250 pickup pulling a horse trailer and an F-350 pickup. He lost control while crossing an icy bridge deck, and the combination jackknifed. The vehicle went into a broadside slide as it left the roadway.

The pickup rolled 1/2 time while the trailer remained upright. Both pickup and trailer then slid down a steep embankment, causing extensive roof intrusion into the passenger compartment. Trevor Hollingsworth was declared dead at the scene, while a passenger, 66-year-old Joel Hollingsworth, survived the crash without serious injury.

Investigators say excessive speed for road conditions were a contributing factor in the crash.
