UPDATE:

I-80 is now open across Wyoming.  The majority of I-80 is still slick in spots with blowing snow, so please be extra cautious if you have to travel.

UPDATE:

I-80 eastbound between Laramie and Cheyenne has reopened.  There is a no light trailer advisory in effect.

ORIGINAL STORY:

Blowing and drifting snow are keeping much of I-80 closed.

Wyoming Department of Transportation Spokesman Ross Doman says crews are working on a couple of larger drifts between Laramie and Cheyenne, and hope to get the eastbound lane open sometime today.

It's unknown when I-80 between Laramie and Rawlins might reopen.  Current wind speeds of 48 m.p.h. in the Arlington/Elk Mountain area are creating dangerous visibility and drifting issues.
