CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) — Hunters and anglers plan to work this weekend to restore areas of the Medicine Bow National Forest that have been degraded by illegal off-road vehicle use.

The Wyoming Chapter of Backcountry Hunters & Anglers is partnering with the Medicine Bow National Forest on the work.

Group members plan to work on Saturday to install fencing, signs and barricades along motorized routes.

Pole Mountain offers high quality habitat for elk, mule deer and other non-game species. But recent unauthorized vehicle use is taking a toll on the area's habitat, specifically in riparian areas and meadows.
