On Monday, January 19 in Cheyenne, Wyoming, hundreds of people took time out of their day to remember the man who had a dream. Members of the military, cadets, families, friends and dignitaries, to include Mayor Rick Kaysen, all lined up at the Cheyenne Depot to march down Capitol Ave in Cheyenne on Monday, in recognition of the acts and the life of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

The day is known as Dr. Martin Luther King Jr Day and is observed on the third Monday in January to mark the day of his birth. King was known in the 1950's and '60's as the spokesman for the civil rights movement in America.

On November 2, 1983 President Ronald Reagan signed a bill, proposed by Representative Katie Hall of Indiana, at the White House Rose Garden, to create a federal holiday honoring Dr. King.

Today, people all across Wyoming and America, take a day to honor and remember the man who fought for racial equality for all mankind.
